Future Clapham

This report comes from Sarah Chan
Regeneration and Housing Department
London Borough of Lambeth

Future Clapham (Lambeth Council)

The decision for the successful development partner for Future Clapham programme was submitted to Cabinet on 20th December 2007. Although the report was approved by Cabinet, Council members have exercised their constitutional right to review the outcome by 'calling the report in' for scrutiny purposes. As a result, the public launch event originally planned for the 31 January will move to a later date.

A Council Scrutiny Committee will be held to consider any issues that Councillors have raised about the decision or the content of the report. The Scrutiny Committee may either take no action in which case the decision comes into effect or may refer matters back to Cabinet or full Council.

Once the decision has been ratified the Council is required by European Union procurement legislation to enter into a two week 'standstill' period, during which unsuccessful bidders may request feedback about their bids and the general bidding process.

Further details of the decision and the public launch will be announced soon. The council will work with the chosen developer to provide a new leisure centre, library and customer centre, along with cultural and community spaces and new housing across three sites in Clapham.
